Ugly Sweaters

Happy Christmas Eve!
Recently, Sweet Eddie and I attended an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party held by some cool friends.  Did you know that stores actually sell sweaters that they market as ugly? Some of them are pretty wacky. I like a good old fashioned Christmas sweater that is so loved by its owner that they don't even realize it is ugly.

Being of the Jewish persuasion, I don't own any Christmas sweaters nor was I going to shell out some dough for such a garment. Instead I made my own by attaching some hair bows that I made to a sweater of my own.  It looked ugly to me!
In the spirit of making ugly sweaters, I also made some ugly sweater Christmas cookies to bring to the party. I had a lot of fun trying to make these cookies both ugly and cute.

Rudolph Leads the Way Sweater

Big Ho Sweater

Gift from Santa Sweater

Snowman in the Wild Winter Sweater

Gather 'Round the Tree Sweater

Whole Lotta Joy Sweater

These don't even compare to some of the awesome monstrosities at the party!

Be Merry and Bright!

Happy Halloween!

The day has arrived, we made it! It is the big night in Salem. Thousands of people will descend on our fair city to fill the streets with costumes, reverie, and excitement . It really is quite the event.  Sweet Eddie and I have our costumes ready and we can't wait!

Welcome to the Witch City!

The Witches are ready to cast a spell
And Candy Corn is happy, can't you tell?
The Spiders in their webs are starting to crawl

While the Mummy is there to creep on us all.

The Pumpkin is carved and out on display

And the Bat is in flight and eager to play.

The moon glows brightly over a spooky tree

And Zombies are hungry to eat you and me!

As the Ghosties float by so tranquil and serene,

I wish you all a truly Happy Halloween!

Cookies for the Go Bo! Foundation Bake Sale

The Go Bo! Foundation is all about paying it forward by funding research, helping families, and supporting treatment for children with life threatening medical conditions.

The foundation is named for Bo Johnson, a brave and loving boy who lost his battle to Leukemia, but left behind a beautiful message about life.

"You only live once so make it count. Just think about what you do.
Think about what matters. Live your life like it's your last."
- Bo

I am so happy to be a cookie artist and to be able to donate cookies to the 2nd Annual Go Bo! Foundation Bake Sale in Wisconsin. The bake sale theme is Halloween/Fall which happens to be my favorite cookie theme and time of year.

I had owls on my mind and since I live in Salem, the Witch City, I used my witch head cookie cutter to make owls with witchy hats.

I also placed a tiny owl in a tree full that was full of color changing leaves.

And a few pumpkins!
Thank you to Jill from Funky Cookie Studio for setting up the bake sale and allowing me to send
 a little cookie love.
Live, laugh, love!

Hoooo Loves You Baby

It is the season of love and who doesn't love owls? Cute, big eyed owls are everywhere and I couldn't resist the urge to put them on some cookies with a Valentine's theme. My sister has been loving owls for years, clearly she was on to something.

I envisioned lavender owls perched in heart blooming trees and thus they appeared, full of love and wonder.

The tree of life is a beautiful motif representing the interconnection of life and it is an image that resonates with me. These are my trees of love with tiny owls. It was fun to see how tiny I could make an owl. Some were so small that I couldn't even see them.

I am still afflicted with baby fever, so I couldn't help but make some baby onesies. I think most cookie designs are only made better on a onesie. And since I have a pregnant coworker, I must shower her with every onesie I can make.

I am so full of love for owls.
Please remember that owl always love you and owl you need is love.
