Layers of Cake

Sheesh, talk about procrastinating...
It has been ages since I last blogged and I haven't been doing anything exciting as an excuse.

I have been baking though, of course.
On the Fourth of July I made a patriotic cake. Hooray! Go red, white and blue.

It had some colorful, vibrant layers on the inside.

I also made a very special layered birthday cake for Nicollette, a cool dude that I work with. She is the jam. We talk about 90210 and awesome 80's flicks like Troop Beverly Hills (yeah Cookie time!) Her favorite cakes are carrot and cheese, so I combined them for her.

Oh, I like to call her pickle.

Carrot cake, cheesecake, carrot cake. Bathed in cream cheese frosting. It was a hit. The Happy Birthday girl was pleased. :)
